I thought I would start a new thread for a recurrent problem (the title error) on the UAV Snow Geese project. On May 18th SEARCHER posted that the problem had recurred for him a second time ( in this thread ). I was in mid-mosaic and have finally finished only to receive this now dreaded message and no ability to move on. This is my third mosaic in row to end this way. Prior to this Marshall did wondrous things and I'd get a new mosaic

Good Day and Hello,

Sorry Marshall, since yesterday we have same Problem again.

Greetz SEARCHER

I realize that since May 18th spring semester has ended so I have to wonder if Marshall Mattingly is still around, perhaps even graduated? Leading to the question of whether this problem is on anyone's radar ( besides SEARCHER and I of course! )

Cheers,

Err ..

I received this error, I did. I made the earlier post .. and then ..

I must report further strange behavior. I went back to the window where I received the error and for some strange reason hit the back button ( any reasonable person would close the window, right? ).

I now have a new mosaic, #56, the last was #55 ( only 750 images thankfully ).

@SEARCHER - perhaps you should try again?

.. very confused ..

Just looked and it seems you're still on mosaic 56. Odd that hitting the back button would give you a new one after the error; I'll try and see why that may happen.

Can you confirm when you finish this mosaic if it successfully gives you another one. You're actually almost at the point where this would be true, btw :p. You're getting pretty close to going through the mosaics.

I have about 250 images left on 56 (the number of "images observed" will be far greater .. still have not figured out that algorithm ;-) ). If you have suggestions on things to take note of at that time, I'd welcome them.

I expect to receive the error again. I'll then try to get a new mosaic in a new window and if that fails, return to the original and try the back button and see what happens.

That will make my wife happy .. she thinks this has been one of my weirder pastimes. I have had a hard time refuting her.

Finished mosaic 56.
Last image had geese, selected them and hit submit.
Received success message for submittal, then " Error! Unable to find an available image for project_id=5".
Opened new window to the selector page of the image projects, selected UAV, received new mosaic #53; closed original window.

hopes this helps,
g

Well, you're going to be a little upset now as we've had an influx or more mosaics :/ Now when you are working on mosaic images, it'll tell you exactly how many mosaics you've completed and how many are in the system for the project, so you'll know exactly where you stand.

I'm gonna work on getting together a page to have some graphs, meta stats, and other fun things that you can look at to see how you compare against others that have looked at the same images. It's pretty interesting to see where the boxes land on mosaics.

I did find the root cause for the system not giving out new mosaics. The algorithm we had for setting up the queue was prioritizing it to try and get 6 different users to look at the same image, but had a bug where it would get removed from the queue after the 6th user looked at it. Now, we leave all the mosaics in the queue, but still prioritize getting 6 users on a single mosaic before moving on.

Hopefully that made sense :/ If you find any more bugs let me know!

Has not shown up it yet but I still have not closed my browser entirely. I like it!

.. so cool .. such a stats geek at times!

Yup, it did.

I'm not much of a coder any more but finding bugs .. oh yeah, I can do that.

tootles off to look at new code changes ..
