|Description||Overwatch Loot Boxes: A Game Of Chance
To keep the business running, Overwatch has a store for micro-transactions, and the loot boxes are one of the popular items available. Loot boxes are Overwatch’s style to do gacha pulls and hopefully get something good out of them, like skins, intros, emote actions, voice lines, spray graffiti and player icons. Loot boxes are mostly obtained via the micro-transactions way, though for people who are into the free-to-play route, there are alternative ways of acquiring such boxes. One box is obtained every time the player levels up by participating in matches. The developers may provide the boxes as a gift based on events or when something else happens in the game. Winning in a few games in Arcade mode also count to get more of those boxes as well as acquiring a sufficient Endorsement level.
Aside from the normal loot boxes, there are seasonal loot boxes, mainly acquired whenever there is a seasonable event taking place in-game.
There are also special or promotional loot boxes as well, though the method of acquiring them involves something different from the usual methods, and they can be redeemed through inputting the code. The codes are temporary and expire if not used yet in some time after the date they are generated. Indeed, best to use them while they are still freshly hot.
An important tip to remember is that the items inside the loot boxes come around depending on when they are bought or obtained; boxes acquired before specific patches will remain that way, diverging from those acquired after the patches are installed. However, items inside seasonal loot boxes remain the same even when the boxes remain closed after events are done.
Getting the Good Stuff
Each loot box contains four items, with at least one of them being of Rare quality or higher. Chances of acquiring a Rare item or higher depends on the quality as well the item type. Let’s just say that opening each loot box is like uncapping one of those food items and hoping to get the toy that people want, which is always random. In case someone gets duplicates of multiple things, they are converted to credits. The number of credits acquired via duplicates is based on quality and they remain the same, even with seasonal loot boxes.
Loot boxes are opened through the main menu or pause menu and selecting the ‘open loot box’ option. Players can open one box at a time, with the option to preview or equip the new items before moving along to the next box. Good luck in case one has multiple boxes lying around in hopes of acquiring a Legendary item.
One thing is for sure: For people who need an overwatch boost, having a distinguishable profile helps for the service providers to come around. Those loot boxes will make sure that the client’s profile is well-known.
