I noticed quite a lot of my tasks are pending validation, and almost all of them are waiting for this host:

http://csgrid.org/csg/show_host_detail.php?hostid=40386

Obviously, something is wrong here. They have more than 3000 tasks in progress, none of which are going to work.

Is there anything that can be done about it?

I'm not sure there will be a response to your request from server/project admins.
Their support for these projects in CSG and response to this message board have been very lacking for about a year.
I am still hoping they will not simply let these projects die.

That said, I sent a PM to the owner,(Bthoneycutt) of that computer "hording" the 3,310 WU.
It is an android platform that has never processed a single credit for CSG.
I think there is either an issue of how the CSG Project was attached to the "computer" or there is not proper support for that particular flavor of android (Android 6.0.1).
I sent a PM to the user asking that they detach CSG from their BOINC client then close it and restart.
If they do that, the server should error out all 3,310 as "abandoned" and eventually resend them to users able to participate.

It's a long shot but maybe they will take action... which at this time looks more likely than a response from project scientists/admins.

Strange. His computer is listed as an 8 processor android. I don't recall what the limit is for outstanding tasks per processor for this project but over 3000 tasks seems excessive.

Anyway, I see they are expiring as the oldest ones reach and pass their deadlines. As they reach their deadlines, the project will automatically cancel them and resend them to others. Looks like the oldest are expiring now. The more recent ones will reach their deadlines in a bit over 2 days from now.

That's good news. I scratched my head a bit about the "8 cores" available on an android device.
The same device is successfully completing work in Astroids and a few others.
I considered that the owner had put CSG projects on "Suspend", but that still does not explain the 3,310 initial upload of wu's from CSG servers.
It looks like the user had to detach and re-attach Astroids, as 2 identical devices are listed, one with 0 credits and one currently processing work.
Hopefully they will do the same with this program and find some way to help out here as well.

It would be better if the CSG servers could see a difference between the older android OS (v.4.*) which do work here and the newer (v.5.0 and v.6.0) android OS that DON'T work here.
The WU's sent to these devices are frustrating the owners and annoying the users depending on the completion of the work to validate their own completions.
The more people join here with up to date android devices they expect to work, the more WU's are delayed in the well of unreturned work waiting for each WU to pass the deadline.
At the very least, there should be a prominent warning posted in requirements that android devices must be older than 5.0.
It has been suggested that instead of complaining about it that people like me should learn how to code and fix the problem.

I scratched my head a bit about the "8 cores" available on an android device.

That might be an ODROID-XU4. They are inexpensive and (for an Android device) powerful little machines and therefore popular with the BOINC crowd.
