Hello,
I just start this project by see and comment birds videos.

In my user videos list I have this message : "You have 3558 credit from 168 observations. 18 have been marked valid and 5 marked invalid (78.26% accuracy). 145 observations are awaiting validation. You have averaged 197.67 credit per valid observation."

But in my account preferences, I have no credits, but only the number of second watched and accuracy. Credits for videos and credits for Boinc crunch are not cumulated?

Thank you ;)

Welcome to the forum and the project! Thank you for your interest in watching videos.

The statistics on the "Watched Videos" page is not accurate right now, but Travis will fix it soon.

The credit you get for watching videos is called bossa credit.
There currently are no WUs for BOINC credit.
These are different and separate credits.

By watching videos and winning bossa credit you are helping the computer programmers to develop better software.

Ok thank you ;)

Yes, time watched displayed is incoherent (approx 30% inferior) compared to number of videos watched (180s per video, except some rares of this)

Hi!

So there are some issues I need to fix with the validator (in some cases it's not correctly validating things), but in general your watched seconds should approximately match the number of videos you've watched. If you go to the watched videos page:

http://volunteer.cs.und.edu/wildlife/user_video_list.php

It will show the credit you've been awarded for each video (we do give partial credit, unsures count for less credit, and so does marking a video as 'video issue'). If anything there looks weird please let me know so I can fix any bugs that might be in the validator.

We're keeping BOINC credits and credits for watching video separate as that's what most users want -- and BOINC credits are for tracking CPU usage, not any crowd sourcing activities. However, in the future (depending on feedback) I think I might provide some bonuses for video watchers, for example: "watch 1 hour of videos, get double credit X workunits) or something along those lines.

I like the idea! Just get a Windows version ready before you install it, plz.

p.s. There's seems to be a minor issue with the Watched Videos page as it doesn't show the same bossa credit numbers as the Top Bird Watchers page does. It looks like it's some 30 hours behind?

Fixed the problem with the credit on the watched videos page -- it was using the old credit value.

Will definitely not have new workunits without a windows app. :)
